Another irresistible gourmand by Al-Rehab!
Love Apple starts out a caramel apple confection. The scent envelops you in tart and juicy green apple, caramelized sugar, and delicious vanilla. After about ten minutes, a little maple syrup peeks through. There’s a tiny bit of spiciness in there- cinnamon? It’s a very harmonious blend.
After applying this, I realized that Love Apple is everything Be Delicious by DKNY wants to be. As far as the depth of scent and staying power go, Love Apple wins easily. And the cost of the one ounce size of Be Delicious will buy you EIGHTEEN 6ml sizes of Love Apple! It’s a no-brainer.
If the description of Love Apple makes it sound way too sweet, it really isn’t. It’s a very soft sweetness. The juiciness of the green apple lightens up the composition. It stays fairly linear- there is a bit more emphasis on the vanilla at its later stages. I’m new to Al-Rehab fragrance oils, but what always amazes me is they are never a cloying, chemical sweet. They are a yummy, fresh baked dessert-like sweet. And you have to give them a little time to develop- about 10-20 minutes on the skin. They mellow, and become even more luscious.
Love Apple combines beautifully with Dalal, Soft, Golden Sand, Secret Lady- and I’m sure it pairs well with other Al-Rehab scents I’ve not been lucky enough to try yet. Or, you can wear it on its own, and enjoy its apple/creme brûlée deliciousness.
As with all Al-Rehab oils, the staying power is remarkable; 5-8 hours on my skin.
